hi guys - just wondering if the internal speaker can be wired up to the line out jack ?...im getting nothing coming out of the speaker, tried everything, reset, clear flash tool, update from tomtom home..still nothing, replaced speaker from a working go unit, still nothing...however line out works if i connect an external speaker....just thinking is it possible to wire the internal speaker to the line out jack?...

Sounds like the amplification circuit for the internal speaker is shot.

The line-out shouldn't have enough ooomph to drive the speaker directly. Didn't you notice the level being significantly lower when you plugged the speaker into the line-out jack?

Given the difficulty many have in a noisy environment when using the internal speaker, had you considered actually making use of the line-out and pumping the sound to your vehicle's audio system? Got an "aux in" anywhere?

yes ive noticed the sound is low on the line out jack..my standard single cd stereo doesnt hav aux in...i was just pondering the idea...lol..some sound is better the no sound and saves me carrying a external speaker around,,

This has probably been checked but its worth double checking:

Change Preferences/ Speaker Preferences and make sure internal speaker is selected, I have known the device software to screw up at times and set this to one of the other options without user intervention, reselecting internal speaker usually gets it going again unless its a hardware issue - Mike
