I've had two different TomToms, a Go 700 and now I have a Go 720.
Anyways, I've had it lock up before (the 700), but a simple paper clip reboot fixes that, so I don't consider that too much of a problem, but my Go 720 finally failed me this week in Little Rock, AR.
It got me successfully from the airport to my hotel. However, then, when leaving to go to dinner, it was unable to show me a list of POIs that are close by. It said please wait.. or whatever. It was not able to find any POIs at all. When trying to put in an address, it would not show me a list of street names at all.
However, thankfully, if I knew the address, I could type it in and it would successfully navigate me there. It was slugish, though, like it was trying to load POIs to show on the map as I was driving... it only showed a few schools here and there and a couple of shell stations (odd).
Anyways, I called TomTom support and they added a map download to my account. They said there was some information on Little Rock missing from the map I was using. That sounded weird... but I finally got back home today and restored a backup to get my preferences back, and am installing that new map as we speak.
I think I'm going to burn a dvd of my backup so that I can load it back to the TomTom in case I have trouble again in the future. I don't install Home on my laptop that I travel with.
