- Open TomTom Home
- Click on 'Backup and Restore -> Backup' in TomTom Home 2.x
- Proceed with making a full backup of your device.
- See TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems - Support home - Select your product in how to do this also.

STEP 2 Delete the Application Files

- Open My Computer in Windows, you will see the TomTom as a removable disk. Double click into it.
On a Mac, click on the TomTom disk that appears on your desktop.
- You will see a list of folders and a list of loose files
- Delete all of the loose files. IMPORTANT: The folders with their content must NOT be deleted.
- Close the window when all files are deleted by clicking on the [x].

STEP 3 Delete the Downloads Folder

- Close TomTom Home. On A PC, close TomTom Home from the system tray in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Right click on the Red TomTom Home icon and choose 'Exit'
- Open My Documents/TomTom/Home/Downloads and delete everything inside the 'Downloads' folder.
- On a Mac, on the Finder bar, click on 'Home -> Documents -> TomTom -> Home -> Downloads' and delete everything inside the 'Downloads' folder.

STEP 4 Run the Clear Flash Tool

STEP 5 Run a Disk Error check

- TomTom Home will check for updates. If not, click on 'Update my Go', or 'Update My One'
- In the list of updates, you will see a 'Program Application'.
- Deselect all other updates that may appear.
- Click on 'Update and Install'. This will download and install the program application update.
