The data transfer rate to and from my new TomTom XL335TM seems awfully slow. I know that I'm using a USB 2.0 port and I believe the cable that came with the unit is USB 2.0 compliant. Does anybody know actual the USB speed of the unit itself? If it's only 1.1, that would explain a lot.

The 335TM is a 1.1 unit. Odd - the "better" 335 models that include decent menu/feature support are all 1.1. Only the "EasyMenu" models with the stripped down menus are 2.0. Just a matter of when they were released and what hardware was in play at the time, I guess.

Thanks very much. It seemed to take forever to install new maps and I also imaged it just in case... USB 1.1 explains the slow transfer.

My dad recently got the XL340 and I sent him the thread about hacking the menu to get to the "old/better" menu. Great forum.
