Tomtom 910 keeps freezing up

Hi -
Just got my tomtom last month, October. It was working great; last week, November 16, it started to freeze up. I reset it...it was difficult but I found the reset button. Three times this has happened. It's newest problem is it can't find the satellites.
I need my unit looked at and I can't seem to find a place in the New York/New Jersey area that will repair it. Can anyone help?
I tried the support area of the tomtom.com site; however, you need a repair number in order for the e-mail for help to be sent.
The unit was great while it worked - can anyone help? Is there a phone number for the company in the United States?

Sorry to hear about your problems. When did you specific notice to freeze? After an updated firewire?

thanks for the help; yes, it came after the updated firewire. I have read that this may be a common problem for this unit...guess, I will only update IF I don't need the tomtom for awhile...

I'm experiencing the same problem. Yesterday my tomtom 910 did not switch on, no matter how long I pushed the button. I did the reset (very difficult to find in my car a suitable tool) and then it began working again. The week before I fought for several hours before having it working back again, but the freeze happended when it was connected to my computer. I have no clue of what an UPDATED FIREWIRE is. Can someone please give me more information?

Hello umbfio and welcome. A firmwire is an application with improvements and enchancements for your TomTom GO.

To check to see what version firmwire you have do the following:
In the navigation view, tap the bottom right corner of the status bar, as shown below.

The version number of the application is shown on the bottom right hand corner of the next screen, as shown below:

The newest version is 6.520. You update using TomTom Home.

I've got confused on the typo. Actually it became showing the problem after the last update to 6.520. Now, after several resets and backup restores, it is working again. But I cannot say which one was the operation that has made it work again.

I have tryed 20 times

I have had mine 910 for two or three days. I where followed the update intrusions in the book. And then I where trying to start it again it stopped at this image. I have tried to reset/restart it maybe times, but the same thing happens freeze with the same image.
Please help me. I want my 910 to work again :confused:
