TomTom 720 Text to Speech with Dare

I have a LG Dare with Verizon. I bought the TT720 a year ago but just recently paired it to my Dare. Hands Free phone works fine but nothing for text messages. Text just come to phone and not to the TT. I think I have the computer voice needed to change text to speech but the TT720 doesn't do anything when a text message comes in.

I know the Dare isn't on TT's approved list, but it works for hands free phone. Any help appreciated. Anyone with a Dare that has it working? Thank you.

As your phone isn't on the supported devices list I would treat it as a bonus that the hands free part works, getting the SMS text message to work is often very difficult and is only known to work on a few specific phones - you won't get it working unless you change the handset for one that is on TomTom's list - Mike

Well I thought I'd give it a shot! I thought Bluetooth was supposed to solve all our connectivity problems!! Thanks.

I have around 20 phones in this house and none of them work for SMS via the TomTom units, probably because I use HTC PDA style phones and an iPhone, in fact I have recently fitted a dedicated handsfree kit to the car so I don't even bother pairing the phone with the TT any longer - Mike

That's the way to go.

I think the phone has better mic and speaker than the TomTom.
