TOMTOM 6250 PRO WONT IGNORE STOPS POINTS

Good afternoon we have a 6250 pro that my wife uses for her school of motoring .
Also we use it with the caravan.
problem she has is if she programs a route for a pupil with stops involved .
using the mydrive software if they miss that stop it goes to the next stop point .
if we program it on the tomtom unit the same it wont let you miss the stop it turns you around even up to 3 miles away .
Any ideas what we are doing wrong ?

You can remove the problem stop.
In the route bar , tap the stop you want to delete.

You can also
From the main menu, select Current Route.
Select Skip Next Stop.

Or Rearrange stops
From the main menu, select Current Route.
Select Reorder Stops.
The map view is displayed with the route cleared. The starting point, destination and all stops are displayed.

Select the stops one by one in the order you want to travel through them.
The symbols turn into a flag as you select each stop. The last stop you select becomes your destination.

Your route is recalculated with the stops in the changed order.

will give that a go cheers .
when shes out on a test shes not allowed to touch the satnav etc
yet the pre programed on the comp will just carry on?
also the mydrive app will not work on the newer android phone is there a work around ??
