tomtom 550 not recogized ?

After connecting my tomtom 550 to the USB port I'm getting a message - "USB failed to recognized the adapter"
Everything workied fine until yesterday, and I've also tried another computer with the same results.

Just to add - other adapters eg mp3s work fine on the USBs.

Any help appreciated.

The usual first suggestion at times like this is to do a reset of the unit .... hold the power button for about 20 seconds until you hear the drum roll sound. Then try again.
