When I am charging my TomTom One 3rd Edition, the instructions say that the screen should go off after 3 minutes of no tapping, to charge quicker. My screen does not go off at all? Is there a reason for this or does the unit need to be reset?

Please advise....Thanks...

I don't see how it could shut off after three minutes without a screen touch. If that was the case, wouldn't it turn off every three minutes while you're using it during a trip, if it's plugged into your car's power socket?

This is when it is plugged into my pc via the USB cord for recharging. Not in the car. I would assume that it would charge as I use it in the car, and you are right, it should not go off.

Thanks...

There are some options under Preferences regarding screen turn off. If you want to charge while plugged into an USB port you can leave the TT off for quickest charge.

I was kinda wondering the same thing, but it seems to be like a stand-by. How long does it typically take for your TTO to recharge via USB? One minute the battery icon is filling up, the next minute its dropping and then recharging.

The unit will charge without having to power it up. Just leave it off when you plug it into the USB. Matter of fact, it charges best when off.
