Tomtom 2.4 Update Issue

When I connect to TomTom Home for updates I am requested to update to the latest revision 2.4 . When I download this update to my computer with Vista , I am unable to connect to Home . I have attempted this process several times without success . Would anyone have a solution to this . I have reverted to 2.3 and it works however I am unable to get mapshare updates . Thank you .

check which version of home your updating to.

the latest version is 2.4.0.104

you may have to update and then update again.


if all else fails....maybe go to tomtom's official website and download home from there.

then uninstall home from your pc and then reinstall the version of home you downloaded.

2.4 Update Issue

I have re- downloaded Home version 2.4 and each time I attempt to run the program the following message appears : HOMERuntime.exe failed with error O: process failed to start up correctly . Has anyone experienced such a problem . Unless I can resolve this issue I will have to stay with version 2.3 . Any help would be appreciated . Thanks .

I have 2.4 on Vista through a Home update with no issues. It could be issues with your computer, as there is no good reason you should be having a problem. You might (one more time) uninstall 2.3, then have Vista do a Chkdsk repair just in case you have some Hard Drive issues.


Then try installing it again. Then try starting it up first without your unit connected. If it starts up OK, connect you unit and see it it works OK then also.

PS - if you are using User Account Control in Vista, that could possibly cause issues when you installed it and/or when you run it. Try running Home 2.4 as an Administrator and see if that helps.

If you have HOME under \Program Files, move it to C:\
If that doesn't help raise a Support question at MyTomTom.

I had problems on previous HOME updates on Vista using my regular-use non-admin account. The upgrade just seemed to work correctly if I performed the update logged onto my admin account....I don't even try updates from my non-admin account any more...If I see there is a new version of HOME, I just do the update while logged onto the admin account.
