Remember this.......

Refurbs do NOT come with the Latest Map guarantee AND they only have a 6 month warranty.

The 140S has 3 times the pois that the 730 has and it does also have IQ routing and Advanced Lane guidance and the mapshares as well.

Where do you see this? The amazon page says the 730 has 5 million, 140 has 7 million POI's. According to the tomtom site, the 730 has 'enhanced' POI's, is this significant?

The North_America_2GB map on the 730 has fewer POIs than the USA_Canada_Mexico map on the 140, and the 730 map doesn't have Mexico. Also the 730 is shipped with a map that's about 1 year older, and the map only has day-of-week IQroutes, not the enhanced time-of-day IQroutes.

You can upgrade a 730 to the same Usa/Canada/Mexico map as the 140 (including time-of-day IQroutes), but it costs about $90.

Otherwise, the 730 has a bigger screen, and SD card for expanded map/mp3 space, and MP3 player, FM transmitter, Bluetooth handsfree / bluetooth traffic support. These features aren't availble on the 140.

Other features are pretty much equivalent.
