TomTom 1005 Camper Model, freezing, unresponsive sometimes

Hi there

gave my old TomTom 1005 Camper sat nav to my mother
shes been using it with no issues, until lately when the thing keeps freezing! its also unresponsive
when i touch the screen the response comes 30 seconds later, an annoying delay!
it has the latest software version on it and latest map update (free lifetime maps)

how do i fix these issues? i have latest version of tomtom mydrive connect on my PC
but i cant see how you remove the software itself from the actual sat nav?
or any other suggestions to fix it?
i have reset it to factory settings 3 times, and held down the power button to reset it and still no joy in fixing it this way

Absolutely useless TomTom!

rang up customer support and they said my unit is out of warranty, its only 2 years old, has been looked after, put in a case, it looks brand new!
never left in the car, always bought into the house, if a sat nav cant even last 2 years, that is WRONG! and its clearly a pile of JUNK, its only ever been updated as your meant to

they wanna charge me £90 to send it off to repair it! WTF??

in the bin in goes! hello Garmin, wont be buying TomTom again
