Tom Tom Safety Cameras

I have a TT Live740 and have not been able to get Safety Camera updates. I recieve a message that file is not available. I have a 510 and 130 in the house and they both received the update. is anyone else experiecing this? I tried to delete the files and download agin from Home but it still gives the same message.

As far as tomtom is concerned in North America their are no Safety Cameras available for update. The reason that they give is because each state has their own laws and rules concerning this matter therefore they cannot offer this update. Other companies do however have this download available for use in this country

Yes - I have the exact same problem, have had for the last few weeks - I've just been disabling that part of the download as it seems to doink the rest of the items in the download.

I'm glad that it's just not me too. I just renewed my Live Services and I thought that there might me a problem there but these services seem to be working fine. I can't understand why my other TT s are receiving the updates??!!?

Yes, that is strange. It must be a different format for the others?

Even though it didn't work for you, I may try deleting the file and see if that triggers something...

Yesterday, lo and behold, the safety camera updates started working. It must have been a server glitch after all. I'm glad I didn't jump through the hoops recommended by support.

Tomtom does offer "free safety cameras" for the US on the x20/x30 models, although I think it requires app 8.351 for HOME to give them to you. These appear to be only fixed cameras, and in the Northeast I see lots of cameras and this "free" file finds almost none of them. In fact I only had this go off once so far - near the intersection of Queens Boulevard and Roosevelt Ave in Queens.

The x40 LIVE services offer safety cameras to Americans: both fixed and mobile.

Here in LV, NV my TT740TM Live activated in early June 2010 has continually received "Free" US/CAN Safety Camera Updates. Did not realize that was provided as part of the 3-mo free live services subscription another reason to contemplate Live Services subscription.

I use them with 8.302.
We only have fixed red light cameras in Ontario, no nore moving vans on the freeways.
We do not have fixed speed cameras, only police officers with various move able devices.
