Tom Tom GO 720

i have a problem, my tom tom starts up but does load up it just shows me a red cross on the screen. also i plug it into the dock for it to connect to the computer but it doesn't recognise it at all?

please help

Try a pin reset on the bottom of the 720.

i've tried that loads of times but it still doesn't work

Try a different usb port. Also try a different usb cable (doesn't have to be one with a cradle).

Can you try connecting to a different computer?

And what O/S are you running?

ye tried that as well

i got a mac and xp computer and thats doesn't work either. but my xp isn't a legit version so that may be why it doesn't recognise it?

Try to download the latest version of TomTom home. It sould have the drivers that you need.

The Tomtom internal memory may be bad. Use winrar to extract the contents of this file onto an SD or SDHC card and put it in the Tomtom. See if it starts up and connects to HOME with the sd in there.
