Hi.
i have at present and old version1 rider but the mounts are failing and the charging pins are starting to wear away so was looking to upgrade, now i have been reading through a good few posts now for the last few weeks and the general concensus is that the new rider has quite a few issues not to mention the additional costs of the on board wireing kit for the bike,
Never had any problems with the old unit apart from the usuall bike mounts falling apart and cracking so i was hopeing at least this problem. had been sorted and improved at the very least

your thoughts would be apreciated, either i stick with what i know or go elsewhere for a better product,,

You dont say where you live, but sad to say that TomTom has removed itself from the motorcycle market here in North America. The Rider Pro and Urban Rider are still available in Europe, but I suspect for not much longer as the reviews and performance are less than stellar.

I have a Rider 2, it has been on my bike for several years and many many miles. I have had no issues with it to speak of. It has been very reliable, including the mount. You can check EBay, as new ones can still be had on there. How long TT will continue to support them, i.e., application updates, maps, etc is anyones guess.

You might want to have a look at the Garmin series of Zumo's.

Cheers
