To upgrade or not to 720

Ok, I have a One 2nd edition that works relatively well. Have not had a single issue with it. So far only complaint is the battery life, but I rectified that by hardwiring it in the car. However, I always wanted the widescreen. At the time, last year, the One XL was just about to come out but too expensive for me. Also, early reports of same battery life as One concerned me as I thought larger screen would eat up more juice. Anyway, I have the opportunity to get the 720 at a very good price, thus determining if I should upgrade. My main desire is the wider screen. Don't need ipod or bluetooth as car already has both. Again, best feature is widescreen as well as spoken street names. Ability to record voice is nice novelty that kids will probably have fun with.

I can get the 720 for $299, but with the new One LE at $149, not sure if there is much resale value on my existing One. Decisions, Decisions. Thoughts guys? Only have a limited time to act on the 720 if I want it.

No experience with your model but I've used a 720 and now have a 920T. They both have a 400mhz CPU vs 266mhz on the One series. Not sure how much real world difference this makes, but based on some user reports I suspect it makes the unit a little more responsive.

For that price, I would jump on it. The 720 is a fantastic unit, and I love the text to speech and widescreen!

Just looking at the specs again.... the ONE only has 32MB RAM and 1 GB internal storage while the 720 has 64MB RAM and 2GB storage. So overall you're getting a lot better hardware with the 720. From spending awhile playing in the store, the ONE XL seemed to have all the roads on its maps, but the 720 and 920 had other details it was missing. For example, two small lakes near my home are accurately shown on the 720/920 but are missing on the ONE. I assume this was necessary to fit everything into the 1GB of storage...

Thanks guys. I know it's a good deal, but don't want my existing One to become a paperweight. I'm going to see if I can generate some interest in it from my family and if so jump on the 720.
