TT730 shows incorrect time. System appears to navigate OK and locks onto satellites with no problems. Used it with preplanned itineraries with no problems (incorrect times of course.
Any hints???

When you say 'incorrect' can you explain somewhat more please?

Is it out by a minutes? half hour? What?

The time is totally incorrect. For example: today I started the TT at about 4:30 pm (1630 hrs). After lock on, the time was 12: 05 am (0005 hrs). So the time is wrong sometimes by hours. As I write this, it is 7.10 ET (1930 hrs) and the TT shows 12:00 am with 4 satellites. Now with 5 satellites it shows correct time plus 1 hour. That is 8:16 pm ( must be related to daylight savings time). Any fix for that ?
Also noted than on turn on, TT switches to "Navigate to: " page after Main menu page 1. I thought it would always come up to the map display.

If for some reason there's been a hard reset, you'd need to manually reset the hour (and only the hour) once you got a satellite lock. While units like this could figure out your time zone, only the most recent TomTom units (with their own issues) actually attempt to do so. I wonder whether your battery is getting a bit long in the tooth. Out of curiosity, how long will your unit remain running if not connected to power?

As for your problem of your unit coming on with a "Navigate to", I can picture a couple of reasons. The most likely is some crud between the glass and bezel in the upper left corner. Work a business card carefully all around the periphery of the glass and see if you can remove anything there that might be causing phantom presses, especially in the upper left.

Another reason may be to have the preference checked to Continue where I left off.........meaning it'll start in the same screen you had when you turned off the unit.

Thanks for the inputs.
Starting up with "Navigate to" menu page was indeed a wrong selection in the preferences.
Did a RESET and now the time comes up with a one (1) hour error when locked to 5 satellites.
candersen suggest to manually reset the hour only. How do I do that?
Battery was replaced using methods found in this forum and appears to work OK. I use it mostly plugged in the car or in the dock.

Thanks a bunch. Never went that far in the preferences. All problems appear to have been a short between the ears (stupidity). Unit has been on battery only for about 1 hour and indicates more than half battery remaining.

Sounds about normal for battery use.

Time: It's what keeps everything from happening at once.
