TomTom Model(s)
ONE
Have a Tom Tom One and don't know how to set clock on unit. I wold have thought it would be done by GPS? Appreciate any help

Welcome to the forum, now to set your clock go to "Change Preferences" and just keep changing screen till you see "set clock"..........

That kind of surprised me too. I thought time would be set by the satellites. I'm pretty sure my hand-held Garmin eTrex Legend does.

When you go to set the time, there is a Sync button that sets the time to the proper minutes per GPS and the nearest hour to the current clock.

I haven't noticed time errors since, so maybe it continues to keep synced via GPS?

I guess tomtom felt it didn't want to assume timezones for their users (eg if someone lived at a border), so it allowed that level of customization.

I don't have that option. All I get is a screen that lets me flip each digit of the time individually.

The most frustrating thing is when I go to the satellite view screen (hit the lower-right route info panel, then hit the satellite bars). There at the top corner is the time I set (usually wrong). Right below it is the current time, accurate to the second, in GMT. A "Sync" button (somewhere) would be perfect, and would eliminate any need for time zone information (except when driving across the line).

My sync button shows on the lower left of the clock set screen (when you set the hours/minutes up and down).

The sync button doesn't show if tomom has 0 bars satellite signal. Maybe you tried to set the time just after turning tomtom on, and it hadn't acquired a signal yet?

Oh, interesting... I was at the computer at work, so indeed I had no signal. I'll try it at lunch, thanks!

Worked like a charm. Now, if only my car radio were that smart.

GM wonders why people have such a bad feeling about their products... but the fancy-looking radio in my '06 Saturn loses three seconds *a day*. I let it go for several months once, just to see how long I could take it. I think I gave up after about 5 minutes (100 days).
