time out on 730s

Hi all. I am a newbe and would like to thank the people that set up this forum. I have many questions but will start with this one.
When I have my 730 in its stand plugged into my laptop, I enjoy listening to my MP3s installed on my TT on my stereo.
After about 5-10 minutes it does a shutdown timeout countdown. I thought its to save the battery but its being powered by the laptop.
Any answers? Thanks in advance!

The software is such that under normal conditions, with no movement of the unit, the TT is designed to power down in 30 minutes.

Perhaps, the use of the power for listening to the mp3's speeds up that process. In other words, perhaps the usb port the unit is plugged into is not providing full power.

Start NotePad on the PC and type a number "1" (without the "") now save the file to the root of the TomTom giving it a name of "noautosuspend.dat" - You might need to rename the file extension from .txt to .dat using Windows Explorer - Your device won't auto shut down anymore while that file is in place - Mike
