Text to speech says wrong distance

Just bought the TT720 and used it on a trip to Michigan. Since I have a female voice selected I'll refer to the TT720 as "she". For major highways and interchanges she would announce a turn when I was 2 miles out...the TT720 showed that I was 2 miles out and my odometer confirmed it. When she directed me off of the major interstates onto 2 lane country roads she would announce at 2 miles out that I had a turn in 1 mile when I was actually 2 miles out. She would accurately repeat the turn when I was 1/2 mile out.

Anyone have any ideas why?

Same 'issue'. Here is what I think....

Lets say your are going from point A to C, and it's all on the same highway.

A---B---C

B, is places where you could merge off (not really exits) or a mojor bend in the road. So if you are at point A it might say 2Km to point B and keep left on the display, but the voice gives you the total distance to point C; since it's the same road. I have had this happen on some country roads and the 400 series highways, and it does seems to add up properly.. Kind of weird, but now that think I understand it, it dosen't bother me, it's a feature. :)

That is not what I am experiencing at all.

I was going from Cincinnati, OH to Coldwater, MI.

When I was on I-75 North in Ohio it would say "Take exit 49 in 2 miles" when I was 2 miles away and then "Take exit 49 in 1/2 mile" when I was 1/2 mile away. All is good.

When I got off of the interstate onto route 30 or route 127 (2 lane country roads) it would say "turn left on state route 127 in 1 mile" when the display showed I was 2 miles away. Then it would say "turn left on state route 127 in 1/2 mile" when the display showed I had 1/2 left until my turn.

I verified this the 2nd time it happened by the odometer...the distance on the display was accurate but the voice was not.

I think I will try to clarify what the other poster stated in the form of a few question.

1. is SR-30 a windy road, or is it straight in nature?
2. Is there another major intersection/interchange that occurs with the 1.5 miles between I-75 and when it tells you 1/2 mile?
3. Is the distance between I-75 and SR-127 actually 2 miles?

I use my tomtom daily, and notice that the first time I enter a highway that I will be on for a stretch it will tell me "follow I-5 100 miles," then it breaks up the route into segments, (ie: the section bewtween 605-SR-19) then SR-19 to I-710)... overall the segments will add up to the 100 miles...

I think that is annoying, but it is still mostly accurate.

It is a fairly straight road.

2. Is there another major intersection/interchange that occurs with the 1.5 miles between I-75 and when it tells you 1/2 mile?

No, there aren't any intersections, turns, or anything between me and the turn.

3. Is the distance between I-75 and SR-127 actually 2 miles?

Yes, after this happened a few times I watched the odometer and it was 2 miles and on the GPS it accurately displays 2 miles until the turn...but says 1 mile.

Hi
Just a quick question.
Does anybody know that the text to speech works on tom tom go 630 or no?
Thx
