stolen tt one can they be locked out?

Had a tt one stolen, can tom tom customer service lock them out? I have the tom tom backup information, etc. From that data can they do something to thawart use of this device? Thx in advance for any info.

Afraid the technology isn't there to allow for lock-outs by tt. Nice if they could, though.
 
TT is a one way device. TT has no "idea" that your a user of the device at all.. its passive.. and only receives generic GPS signals.

Sure, you sign up online... thats the only way they could be "locked out", if they ever connect to the web, the unit will show up as "yours"...
 
I don't think anything is going to happen if a thief goes on line and updates gpsfix for instance. my brother is often at my home and we regularly update his gpsfix on my laptop and moments later I can connect my unit and do the same. the tomtom website doesn't complain at all.
 
if you deside to get a new unit the next time that you use tomtom home and make sure you are logged in you can go to the operate my "go" and it will let you set a password on the unit , that you have to input everytime you use the device , but you can not contact support to get that password if you forget you are as lost as the person who stole your unit :)

Yeah, I'm aware of that, what I was talking about was reporting the theft to Tom Tom so that they could prevent the thief from opening an account on HOME using a unit that had been stolen.
