On a TT One does it supposed to show the Speed Limit of the Road your on or not? I called TT Support and I got 6 different answers from 6 different people.

If the speed limit is on the map, then the TT1 will show it. I suspect that the US+Canada map does not have many speed limits in it. The NA Map may have more.

I say that because the US+Can map is downsized in order to fit in 1 GB.

I have the NA Map and even there I have not yet encountered an area that has the speed limits in the map.

As Polkamatic says I believe the speed limit has to be built into the map. I used my TT1 with the UK maps on a SD card this summer and it showed the speed limits and even warned me visually if I was speeding. I know that it has warned me audibly on a recent trip that I was exceeding the limit on the 401 in Ontario.

Check that you have selected this in the safety features section of the menu.

I encountered speed alarms with the Western Europe 6.xxx map but never with US & Canada. It took me a while to figure out why it was making bonging noises at me.

Speed limits

I have the latest US and Canada map, I've enabled the audible warning when exceeding the speed limit, and I've never heard the alarm triggered

I called TOMTOM support again and what they said was that they dont have all the speed limits for North America so he told me to start sending in highway names and what there speed limits. So i guess that answers my question from before and he did say in Europe they have the speed limits posted

Note that aside from the alarm, there is an option to display the speed limit next to your current speed. I am in Massachusetts, and have not yet been in an area where there is speed limit data.
