On other, non Tomtom GPS, that I have used there was always a capability to see what the GPS calculated speed was.

Is this capability true in general for Tomtom gps.

As far as I know, every gps device will show the current speed and it is accurate, unlike the speedometer on a car which normally will show a higher speed, sometimes up to 10% higher.

I do not have your GPS, and am not familiar with it. However, I can confirm from personal experience that three other TomTom products that I have used all have the cabability to display the vehicle speed if that option is selected. I assume that an online search will find the manual for your device, and the manual should tell you how to have your device display the vehicle speed.

I wonder if the OP's Scenic 3 came with a Carminat TomTom? Some of them have.

@Sandy1 ... can you help us identify what you have? Renault has installed TomTom devices from the factory for some models.
