I finally got to use my new Christmas gift today..and I'm just not so excited. I really wanted a TT and annoyed my poor husband to death about it..but now I don't know what I wanted it for.
I can't figure out how to stop the directions on my way home. I know how to get home..shut up already...And I absolutly HATE the way it looks on my dash. I have a Yukon XL and the windshield is way too far to install the TT, so I put it on my dash. Looks silly just sitting out in the open...
Tell me all the good things! Make me love my TT please!!!
I have the One XL..
Thanks

which year is your yukon, if i can find a pic of the dash to see where will fit best

another thing, since you can customized map colors and voice start by making it the way you like

another thing, you dont have to alway ask a route on the GPS.. its kinda fun just driving having alway the surrounding maps around you even if your not asking direction

I can't figure out how to stop the directions on my way home.

You need to tap the screen to get the menus, the choose "Clear Route". Unfortunately they put this option on the third menu page so you need to use the arrow icon on the bottom right of each menu to get to page 3. After clearing the route, your TomTom will stop giving you directions until you choose a new destination.

TomTom makes a bluetooth remote control which can be helpful in a situation where you can't easily reach the screen. Not sure if it's compatible with your model - check TomTom's website for more info.

What you need to press is the 'Clear route' icon. If you don't see it (on Page 3 of the menu, I believe), then go into the 'Preferences' menu and press the 'Show all menu items' icon. This will make it show.

Hi. I felt the same way when I bought my TT go910. Why do I need to map my route to work or home or places I go on a routine bases?

Until the day I was stucked in traffic. I pulled up my TT out my bag, mapped my route home, search for altenative route by blocking the street where the traffic was, and reroute. I was able to found an altenative and get home on time.

Now I keep it on all the time and if I am in traffic, I can take any street and TT will remap automatically to route for me... This is so great in traffic situation (unfortunatly TT traffic is not available in Canada).

The other great feature is to search for POI. I love going out to restaurant and like to try new places. I use the search/find in the POI and you will found a new world of information. and this to any location you want.

Play with it, you will discover the potential and why in the first place you want the TT. Enjoy.

Thanks for all the responses guys! I'm still playing with it and am enjoying it more all the time..
My Yukon is a 2007, still not sure where the best place for it is..
