Smaller file size for v7.20

Hi everyone

First off I would like to say that I am so glad that I came across this forum a few weeks ago, it has helped me so much with my 920.

I have the v7.20 maps on my HOME account but have noticed that the file size is quite smaller than the the v7.15. On the NA map I get a file size of 1617MB while the v7.15 was close to 2GB. The EU map for v7.20 is 1883MB while the v7.15 was 1927MB. What will I be is missing in these new maps?

ill bet you your point of interest(s) are smaller. Also compare the text to speech files.

You are right. I checked the following files to compare.

poi.DAT - 7.15 is 266MB / 7.20 is 120MB
cspeech_CA.DAT - 7.15 is 26.2MB / 7.20 is 22.8MB
cspeech_TX.DAT - 7.15 is 40.3MB / 7.20 is 34.9MB

One advantage is that I am able to have both the Europe and North American maps on the unit without the use of a SD card.

POI's do not worry me much but I am concerned about the cspeech files, what do you recommend?
