Slow to connect!

I haven't had a chance to test my new 855 map on major highways yet. Close to home it seems to be working about the same as the previous map. Only one problem: it takes a longer time to get connected to the satellites since I installed the new map. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Also, I haven't seen any new updates for the quick GPS fix thing.

Have you cleaned out the ephem folder on the unit and the ephemeris folder found here:

C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\MyDocuments\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\ephemeris\

and then tried for a new gps file?

No, I hadn't done that but I did it and immediately got an updated quickGPSfix file.

But now I get the following error on Home when I try to update my unit: (this is just the first part of the error; it's too long to post)

UPDATE: After disconnecting my unit from the internet and reconnecting a few times, the error has gone away. And now my unit connects to the satellites quickly again.
