Hi

Apologies in advance if this has been covered elsewhere.

My ONE IQ Routes Edition / 140 takes around 60 seconds from the initial tom tom screen to get to the map screen.

The tom tom has been updated regularily and never medded with

Simply is this normal - if not what can i do?

Thanks in advance

Dave

No, 60 seconds in not normal.

First of all, if you have not made an Explorer backup (not Home) do so now.......

Next, is your unit fully charged?

Where does the delay seem to appear? The normal startup splash screen stays on the unit for about 7 or 8 seconds, then the unit goes to the map screen.

If you have too many poi categories checked, this may slow down the process somewhat since the unit has to retrieve the categories and place on the map. You shouldn't have more than 4 or 5 categories at maximum.

Hi thanks for the response.

Yep fully charged...will check the POI's

The unit takes 60 secends to get to the map...and then more time to find satelites""

It "hangs" on the splash screen for about 30 seconds, goes blank and then hangs on the splash screen again for around 20 seconds.

Any clues??

Cheers again

Dave

You could try resetting the unit by holding the pwer button for about 20 seconds.

Or use Explorer to backup the unit's contents, don't use Home.

Then format the unit. Don't use quickformat.

Finally, restore the backup.
