Hi,

I have a few routes planned on my Go App on iOS, I came across an issue recently where I was following a route and missed a waypoint as I went down a different road by mistake. The route was then constantly telling me to turn around to get me back to that waypoint. I looked in vain to find a "skip next stop" option on the CarPlay interface!?

I know I can do that on the phone but this would have meant pulling over and getting the phone out of my bag which was in the boot of the car!? We are also not allowed by law to be on a mobile while driving. This is a little inconvenient and I feel the option to "Skip next stop" should be available in the CarPlay interface, therefore:

1. Is this option available in the Carplay interface already and I am just not seeing it?
2. Or, are there plans to add this feature to the CarPlay interface in the future? If not can I request it be added please?

Thanks

TC

Seems like as others have said elsewhere, the only response from support is that they are limited to the number of items they can display in CarPlay so they've chosen what they believe to be the most used items.

This is the article TomTom support keep navigating me to: https://help.tomtom.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360013959339-GO-Navigation-app-with-CarPlay

Therefore, "Skip next stop' is not available on the CarPlay interface as it isn't deemed as one of these most used items and there doesn't seem to be any other location that TomTom could put it on there CarPlay interface!!

Hi TazC, Thank you for that info which probably answers my question as well. I have an Android Auto unit on my Motorcycle and whilst using TT Go on my phone I find that on the Android Auto unit it only shows half a dozen of "My Places" which are all shown on my phone. Again I can get my phone out and select them on the phone but being on a motorcycle it would be nice if they appeared on the Android Auto.

It is the same on Car Play and Android Auto, they are both very stripped down in terms of functionality, not just compared to phone app, but also compared to other nav apps and theirs Car Play and Android Auto :(

  • Google Maps have easy way to skip next waypoint. Probably some others too.
  • Probably every other nav app can display more than 6 items in My Places / Favorites. In few of them I have more than 6 items, and all are shown in Android Auto.
  • Probably every other nav app can have custom folders for My Places / Favorites. At least in all apps that I have.
  • Some other nav app have access to My Routes, and not just to My Places.

It seems that Google and Apple limitations don't apply for others, but just for TomTom.

Yea, Thanks for clearing that up I thought I had a problem, I do hope someday they sort it out. Cheers.
