several TomTom Home actions not working

I have an XXL 540S WTE and am running Win 7 Pro 64, Internet Explorer v9.0.8112 , & TomTom Home v2.9.1.2780

When I click on "Find Accesories For My XXL" or "Read the manual for my XXL" or "Use TomTom Route Planner" Home does NOT open internet explorer and perform the deisred action. Instead for a very brief instant a black window with white text (Like a Command Prompt Window) appears but no further action takes place no matter how long I wait. The DOS style window does not dislay long enough to read. Although the route planning doesn't work within Home if I right click on the TomTom Icon on the Task Bar and click on "Plan a route" it does indeed work correctly so it appears the actions in Home are not "pointing" to the correct links.

So far, I have tried to solve this by going to the windows contol panel-programs and doing a repair of TomTom Home. Didn't work!. So then I did an uninstall and a re-install from a fresh download of the latest version of Home then did udates and a full Home backup of my XXL 540S WTE. Didn't correct the problem

I had the same problem with "Operate my XXL" up till yesterday but now have this function working by following the advice on the forum to 'delete any files or folder in the following location . . . C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming|TomTom\Home|Profiles|<random name>.default\extensions. Once I did that and rebooted my computer an restarted Home the "Operate My XXL" now works.

I suspect I need to delete other files/folders to get the remaining three Actions to work correctly but don't know what files/folders that would be. Can any one advise which ones I should delete or can/should I delete everything in Profiles or Home without damaging my installation of Home more.

First, try running Home 2 in XP compatible mode.

I have tried running in Win XP Compatibility and still have the same problem/s. Thanks for your suggestion dhn appreciate any help I can get.
