Set Current Location

Help.

I picked up a 730 and did all the updates but when I try to set current location for my home it does nothing. Can anyone help me get this corrected?

How are you trying to do that? There is more than one method.

I just went into "change preferences" then "set home location" and that's all I had to do. You're saying that it won't save it?

Not sure how you're trying to set your home location. The best way I think is to use the lat/lon to define your home - rather than using your address as your home position. It's the most accurate because it's using the satellites positioning rather than depending on how the addresses are divided up in your neighborhood.

Walk out to the front of your house (drive way entrance) and turn on your TomTom. Then... Tap

• "Change preferences" <right arrow> <right arrow>
• "Change Home location" <right arrow>
• to "My location".

This way it uses your actual position via satellite computation instead of dividing up addresses in your neighborhood.

Believe it or not I have tried all the ways suggested and nothing seems to set my home location. So since I was looking around about some other things I seen something about deleting a certain file and let the tomtom reinstall it. Well that is what I have done and now all I had to do was click on the set current location and it has set my home location now.

Thanks for the suggestions though.
