I was looking into expanding my internal memory with adding a SD card. I was wanting to know how high I could go? (4, 8, 16 gb, etc) Also, will a High Capacity card work or not?

Many users have a 4 gig sdhc card for a 720 (Sandisk seems popular). The 720 can deal with a 8 gig card BUT it only can read/write to the first 4 gigs (3.79, actually). Meaning, you can for example use Explorer to load the card beyond 4 gigs with stuff like mp3's and the unit will see them but you can't use Home to save stuff (including maps) in that region.

Format the card to fat32 first.

If I format a 8 or 16gb card to fat32, will the 720 only recognize 3.79 or 4gb?

TTHome will and, as I said, the unit will only be able to write to the first 4 gigs but read from all 8. I know some users of 920's are using 16 gig sdhc cards. I don't know of any 720 users who are. That is not to say they don't exist, only that I'm not aware of any.
