SD Card

I cannot get my TT 720 to read or even indicate that there is a SD card in it. I downloaded and installed a voice and also a POI onto the SD card. When I put the SD card into the TT nothing is any different. When I look at the card in HOME I can see the voice file but not the POI. What should happen when there is a SD Card in the TT? The card I am using is a 1 gig card and the latest version of HOME (HOME 2). Do I have to do anything special to get the TT to recognize the card?

I keep thinking I must be doing something wrong. This is my first experience with TomTom products or GPS in general. Am I wrong in thinking that I can put POI's on my SD card and then have the TT access them there?

This GPS has really made me feel dumb

Thanks for any help I get. I have tried the TT website and manual but cannot find how to work the SD card features. I don't want to use it for mp3 or photos, just POIs.

How did you get the files on the SD card?

For the TT to recognize any of its support files, they must be in the correct folders. If you used HOME, then they should be properly located but if you just drag/dropped them using your computer, they may not be in the proper locations (folders).

As a test, you could CREATE a folder called:

mp3 (all lower case)

then put some mp3 tunes in there and see if the TT recognizes them from its media player and plays them.

My understanding is that poi's must reside in the same folder as the map(s) you have. TT will see photos in both internal memory and a sd card, same for mp3's but poi's? No.
