Ok so the internal memory on the tom tom is bad (would not let me update and had 172 bad sectors, could not be fixed, could not be formatted)

Is there a way to use an sd card now and install the tomtom apps on to that instead?

Your model has a card slot? If so, yes, you can install the application on the card but you need to put EVERYTHING on the card. So, do you have a copy of the map?

Yeah I did a copy of the maps and did a backup using tom tom home, so all the info is on my computer in the tomtom home folders and the maps are 892 mb worth

but how will I do this now? I think tom tom home only updates the software to the internal memory? or will windows see the sd card and I can fat32 format that and then tomtom home would then see that as the standard drive?

TomTom will boot to whichever location holds the application. If the application is on the sd card, then it'll boot to that.

But, for your model..............EVERYTHING has to be on the card, as I said.

ok do I want to let tomtomhome update my device once I get an sd card and then format it or do I take the files in the tomtom backup folder (that tomtom home made) and put it on the sd card memory 1st?
