SD Card question

device: ---> TT-One V2 7.162 firmware

I have had trouble installing GPSfixes from TTHOME. To make matters worse, I tried to rename the "ephem" directory and created a new one -- then I put the lto.dat and ee_meta.txt in from a previous backup.

Long story short, I've gotten myself in a position where my TT won't boot up. All I get is the start screen with the hand. Tried multiple resets w/no avail.

I do have good backups and a couple of things I'm wondering:

1. I have an 2g SD card. Shouldn't I be able to take a successful backup of my TT and copy it to my card and run TT off of it? I tried this and I get the red "X" through the card screen -- meaning to take the card out. Is this because the card isn't formatted correctly?

2. Can I (w/a leap of faith) -- delete my files from TT's internal memory and copy one of my backups (directory by directory) to the device?

You see the red X because there's nothing on the card. Use the home program and use the restore function from within the program. that should get you back in operation even though you see the red x when starting.

alternately you could use an sd card reader and a file manager to copy the files on to the card. format for the card is fat32.

help again!

Thanks Flyer.

I do have all my TT directories on my SD card. I purchased the card from BB and just went into Win-explorer and copied the files from a backup. And I'm sure that they are installed via the root directory of the card.

So.... I didn't format the card before I copied to it.... so I'm assuming it came pre-formatted........ but could it possibly be formatted incorrectly??

Anyhow --- I've tried doing restores from TTHOME, but I get "file corrupt" messages on my device so that appears not to be an option.
