SD Card Question

I am wondering how the SD card operates once it is put in the TT?

With the internal drive being so small, I want to use a SD card to install POIs and alerts (from this site, great job to all by the way), but I am confused on if the TT uses both the internal drive and the SD card simultaneously?

My guess is that once the SD card is installed all of the files on the internal drive need to be moved to the SD card, if so, is just moving them over through "windows explorer" fine?

Or am I way off here, can somone please fill me in on this, I am pretty sure it doesn't work like a digital camera where once you put the SD card in it automatically sends everything to the SD card.

I'm assuming that you are using a TT One. (It's different for the 720)

Yes, you are on the right track. When you insert the card, the internal memory no longer works. The two don't work simultaneously.

So you have to copy both the map and the system files on to the new card.
