Screen reflection...

I borrowed a friends Nexstar. Reclections made the unit absolutly usless in daylight in my pickup.

I am about to take the TomTom 920 plunge. Please tell me folks, Will I regret spending money and then have problems with not being able to see or read the screen?

Honesty counts.

I also admit that I'm new to a Nav system.

When I sampled the 720, the color display in direct sunlight was great!

Im sure 920 owners can take a picture and post them here for you.

I have a Go910 and the screen gets washed out under direct sunlight. I do miss the screen clarity of my old Garmin 2610. Somehow the problem is somehow solved by using a visor - I have one from drumma.

In bright sunlight, the screen 'fades', but is still readable. In my opinion, this is not a major problem. If you look thru the forum, virually no one complains about this.

I bought the original Go Classic (for an outrageous price, at the time), and its screen was like a mirror. I had to buy a screen protector AND a visor to make it usable. The screens on the new units are just so much better!

Summer time in Oz means lots of screen glare. I bought a Glarestomper hood for my previous GPS unit (a TT ONE) and liked it so much that when I upgraded to a GO 720, the first accessory I bought was a Glarestomper hood!

Some don't like them, but I reckon the way that the hood folds flat down over the screen provides a nice bit of padded protection.

I just a bought a TT One from the USA and have been looking around for a hood too, it's very bright here on the Sunshine Coast

Where did you buy your hood from and how much Wayne?
