Screen fell off

I have a Tomtom that is about 6 years old. It worked fine but I had to lay up my car for a few months for an operation. During that time, the screen was clearly delaminating around the edge and fell off when I started driving again. I now realize that the touch screen isn’t working. ( The Tomtom has updated and looks fully functional). Anyway I held the screen back on , expecting that to be the problem but still it didn’t work. Should I assume it just needs resetting or is there something vital about how that outer screen works. 🤔 Thankyou

If you say the screen fell off, he must have disconnected the socket from the motherboard.
The solution may be to disassemble the GPS and see if the socket is properly seated.
I don't think an update or reset will fix the problem, plus if the screen the screen does not turn on.

Sorry but that makes no sense to me. There is a front screen ( which fell off) behind which is the display. The TomTom appears to be all working and has updated itself but no response to touch. 🤔

In fact it is the first glass that fell and this touch glass is welded on the LCD screen cable.

So you have to buy a new screen for your GPS.

Thankyou. After a certain amount of online searching, I have realised the same. Good to have confirmation though.
