Save Position to Favourites

I see that this option is finally added to the new '870' map updates ... But when I go to use it it instantly says "poor GPS reception.. Are You Inside a building?"

Well no I'm not - I am out in the wide open with 5 white bars of reception available on the TT630 ..

Is this an area of 'updated new features' that is not Yet available in my area??

It should be available. Has been for many applications & map versions.

I've never come across it before and with it here now on the 870 maps it doesn't want to be recognized .. On my device .

Planning preferences. At the bottom of the first screen will be a button for IQ routes. Make sure you have IQ routes enabled.

on my main splash screen start up I have the 'logo' IQ routes but no where in any of the two menus Do I have an item called IQ Routes .....

It's certainly not something new with v870 maps I'm afraid and I don't think it's anything to do with IQ Routes either.

I'm pretty sure I have had the ability to save my location as a Favourite on every TomTom I've ever owned since the Go300 back in 1995, and that was way before IQ Routes was invented.

Maybe the feature got left off the Go630 for some reason and they have seen sense and reinstated it in a software update (rather then a map update). But it would be an odd feature to leave off!
