Saftey lock.

Hi, i have a One XL routes edition and cant turn off the saftey lock.Anybody help before lose the will to live?.Thanks.

Uh......use the same combination when you locked it?

And before you respond, 'I forgot it', consider our position here. This is your first post. Nobody here knows you or how you obtained the unit. Do you see where I'm going with this......?

May not be what you want to hear but it's the reality we live in.

I guess we all have to make a first post, i did not use a combination to lock it , i'am refering to the saftey lock enabled whilst car is in motion and i'am unable to enter a new destination without stopping the car, thanks.

I apologize for the misunderstanding........

I know what you are asking but, to be honest, do not think I've encountered that issue. I know that built in sat nav devices sometimes have that 'feature' but I'm sure I've changed routes while my vehicle was in motion.

Hopefully someone wiser than I will pop into this thread to give you some advice.

Thanks but that option doesnt show on mine, only one ticked in that section is reminder not to leave in car.

I don't know the One XL but do you have the option to Clear route (on page 3 of my Main Menu screens).

XL IQ Clear Route is found by tapping the bottom center of the status bar, this shows the Route Summary screen and an option on this screen is Clear Route - Note the button doesn't appear if no route is planned). There are only two pages of main menu options on the XL IQ/ XL IQ Live.

As for the menu locking the option is exactly as per Canderson's post earlier in this thread, the option is shown at the very top of the first screen when you select Change Preferences/ Safety Preferences.

If this item isn't selected I would try enabling it then disable it and see if that makes a difference to the device - Mike

This is a rather silly bug that I have seen from time to time, if its not doing what you have selected options for selecting the option then turning it off again often cures the problem - Glad to hear its fixed the issue though - Mike
