TomTom Model(s)
Go 5100
Hi, can anyone please tell me if the act of replacing the battery in TomTom Go 5100 erases any information. I am particularly concerned about loosing the large number of destinations I have saved under My Places.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks

If you connect your GPS to your Plan-Tomtom account for a backup, you will find all your saved destinations in your destinations when you reconnect it.

The POI, Favorites / My Places and device settings that you create in your 5100 are stored in NVRAM (as are your maps, voices, etc.), so a battery replacement will not have any negative impact on that stored data.

Many thanks for that. I’ll take a look at my Tomtom MyConnect account (where I go for updating maps etc) I am guessing will be the same as the Plan account? That’s really helpful appreciated.

No, you don't need to connect to mydrive connect but to Plan-Tomtom

It's the same thing, Mydrive has been replaced by plan-tomtom.
That’s really interesting. I’ve accessed it on my iPad and signed in ok. It’s showing a couple of dozen of my destinations but that’s only a fraction. As far as I know I need to physically connect the Go 5100 so am thinking if I get onto Plan.TomTom on my PC, and then physically connect to my device then things may become clearer. Thanks again for your guidance on this
UPDATE! PLAN.TOMTOM IS FANTASTIC! Does all I want and much more. A game changer! Big Thanks Willy
