Replacement TomTom

Hi Certain this has been covered many times but can I check: My Go540 has plotted its final route to the home for tired satnavs and has been replace with a 1005 with Europe mapping. When I go on-line to register I have to use a different e-mail address and then change back, is this correct?

Yes, Julian, DO use a new email address -- that's how TomTom keeps track of your account for your device. The only alternative is to call Tech Support and have them affect the transfer for you from old to new device on that email account.

That sounds like a recipe for problems further down the line. If you change back to the old email/account name, then at the very least, TT's systems will probably keep trying to offer you maps intended for the old model.
