Tomtom go android navigation app
Using tomtom go navigation app on android phone . When in a route is there any way to repeat the spoken instructions? I can't find anything to press

Oh ok thanks . Would be a nice option though Google maps has it 🤔
So do the voice activated TomTom devices. We can say "Hello TomTom. What's the next instruction?" and it will repeat whatever it is.

Unfortunately this facility is too slow to respond it often does not recognise the spoken command and the turn or change of direction has passed by the time it repeats the instruction

That's some short notice. Sounds like your primary issue, then, are the instructions that come a 2nd or 3rd time, right before the event, not the original instruction that comes earlier?

That's when it's time to take a glance at screen and see where it's sending you.

Not an option in dense traffic the whole point of spoken directions is so you don't have to peer at a tiny screen and take your attention from the busy road

By removing the repeat last instruction button, TomTom has effectively nullified the advantage of spoken directions. The voice recognition system is a useless vanity option that patently doesn't work when it is most needed i.e. during dense traffic with short distances between turns or manoeuvres. It requires an editic memory to remember commands, I am aware that the commands can be changed by the user, however they can also be forgotten during stressful situations i.e. travelling in a strange city looking out for idiots on the road who are probably staring at their TomTom devices or phones instead of looking at the road. When I bought my current expensive device from the TomTom site I was unaware that the button had been removed. I would have looked for a different device and make, had I known. My opinion is that fools who don't usually drive have taken over TomTom. When I replace this device I will look elsewhere for a replacement. Why is it such a big deal not to give drivers the option of the button when it is such a very minor programming issue?
