Hello, I have 2 tt720's- one freezes on boot and the other works great in functionality but the little yellow/black satellite thingy doesn't spin around hence no reception of satellites. Could it be the actual sensor part or more likely the chip/motherboard?

Is it possible to unsolder the part needed off the other board?

Incidently, can somebody describe the actual signal pickup/antenna?

Finally, are boards available to buy?
Cheers

Why not try repairing the one that won't boot up as the soldering job to replace components on the main PCB is far from easy with most components being surface mount.

For the unit that won't boot lets start with downloading a fresh copy of the latest Navcore for the device, click Here

Next download and install WinRar to your PC from Here

Use WinRar to open the Navcore download and extract all the files and folders straight to the drive letter associated with your TomTom.

When its finished use the disconnect USB device icon in the tool tray on the PC (bottom righthand corner), does the 720 now boot up correctly? - Mike
