Hi
Had an odd problem appear several times now, but not seen it before. A track i am following recalculates as nonsense. This happens in the following situation:
1. Track imported from MyRoutes app
2. Follow track everything working fine.
3. Take a small detour, might only be less than a mile from the track.
4. The Tom Tom panics! recalculates the route adding endless loops and going up and down the same road. In one case the estimated arrival time increased by over 4 hours. Example attached

I assume it was something to do with my routing settings, but routing is set to fastest
Also it usually gives me the green faster route option, which to me looks like my original track - although it might just be the fast route to the destination I have not been able to test this

Anyone seen this, or know what it is doing?

Tony

It looks like it has recalculated using some other routing preference like twisty roads, with twisty set to max

Indeed, it almost looks like "Winding route" was selected!

The types of route you can choose from are as follows:

  • Fastest route - the route which takes the least time.
  • Shortest route - the shortest distance between the locations you set. This may not be the quickest route, especially if the shortest route is through a town or city.
  • Most eco-friendly route - the most fuel-efficient route for your journey.
  • Winding route - the route with the most turns.
Note: Winding route is not available on all TomTom navigation devices or apps.
  • Avoid motorways - this type of route avoids all motorways.
  • Walking route - a route designed for making the journey on foot.
  • Bicycle route - a route designed for making the journey on a bicycle.
