RDS-TMC traffic

I have a 920T and was wondering about the RDS-TMC traffic. I live in Birmingham, AL and it has some coverage according to the Clear Channel coverage List. Also broadcast signal is supported by several stations. The TomTom recognizes when the antenna is plugged in, searches for a channel and gives a green circle and the bar on the RHS of the unit. I set up Home to Work/Work to Home and it will report back no issues. Only had it a couple of weeks and it is possible there have been no issues. Reading the manual though, I?m wondering if it is actually working properly? On the traffic screen that has the icons, ?Show traffic on route? and Read aloud traffic info? they are ?stiffeled? out (cannot select them). I had read but can?t find it now that there is a possibility you could have the European antenna (mine has the egg about 12 inches before the plug.). If anyone has any information generally or perhaps some in B?ham, AL has the TomTom with the RDS-TMC traffic and has actually gotten a report of traffic. Finding a station and getting a green circle is no problem but have yet to get any traffic report. Tnx

If you have the green circle and the traffic vertical bar below it, you have the correct unit and it is working. Try tapping on the bar below the circle (with your nail - you have to be right on it). See if that displays the "read traffic on route" option.

As for actual traffic - listen to the traffic reports and set a destination that goes through the trouble spots - it should show some if not all of them - plus delay times for specific incidents.

Have you call TT Tech support tp have the traffic service added to your TomTom account? The service has to be activated, and you are entitled to 1 year of the service with the purchase of the antenna. Hope this helps you out.

I'm not sure this is correct, I was under the assumption that you plugged it in and it worked for a year.
