I'm trying to see if the following is feasible:
On my Honda nav, it has an unpublished feature where it remembers speeds driven and uses it for future routing. With tomtom app 8.x it appears that speed limit editing is now possible via mapshare, so it seems feasible to create a 3rd-party app that records actual speeds of driven roads and auto-edits the built-in map speed to the actual driven one (or something like 75% old speed, 25% new). This essentially is personal IQroutes, rather than waiting for tomtom to give community updates.
Can anyone recommend web sites that give intros to writing 3rd-party tomtom apps? Especially ones with code samples that can read existing maps and read the GPS trace? I used to be a hobbyist programmer 10-15 years ago, and I'm hoping that with a little training this would be within my capabilities.
Or better yet, anyone want to try building this app?
