Question on ,ap updating

A couple a months ago I purchased the 8.15 us map. When I go to TomTom home i do not get the option to update to 8.3. When you buy an update is it go for a year or only for that one download?

The newest map (released a week or so ago) is 8.25

The newest application is 8.302. Press the satellite bars and the next screen shows the version number of the application installed. What does yours say? And, what model TomTom do you have?

As of about 4 days ago, TT has started offering a subscription series to North Americans for maps. You have to update your map to the current (8.25). The more recent the map you have, the less the cost to upgrade to 825 and then you pay for 4 additional maps over the next year.

The total for upgrading plus the 4 additional maps is much less than the cost of just 1 map was just a month or so ago.

You should be offered the subscription series when you connect using Home. (look in the top right hand corner of your opening Home screen and, perhaps, a banner along the bottom as well).

If you are NOT offered this subscription, call support at 866-486-6866 to find out what is wrong.

Oh ok. My application is 8.302 and I just checked my map and it is 8.15 and I just upgraded to it on 2-9-2009 for $117.00 . But now it TomTom home it tells me there is an update to 8.25 but it wants me to pay to upgrade.

Yep...........crappy, eh?

But the upgrade to 825 wont be that much (I think they offer an 85% discount for a map as new as yours)

NavCore firmware will be offered in HOME when released, click Info button for more detail and which version.
Map purchased or updated (in your case 8.15) should still be in your account for 1 year.
