So lately I have been having some issues with my TT920. It has been crashing and rebooting on itself more and more lately. This weekend I had to do a factory reset to get it to stop and then go though all the setup. It has been a real PITA lately.

Also I have just reciently (last week or so) been getting an error pop up something like: "Unable to save map settings. File access error".

Any clues?

Thanks a million.

"Unable to save map settings. File access error".

if you see this message, you might start the configuration so quick after the reset. It mostly will walk you through till some point, and it will restart the GPS itself, asking you to re-do what you did for the configuration. This time the setting will be fine.

I forgot to mention, that this happens randomly and in the driving view. No input or setting change being made by me.

I had the exact same problem just last week. This week, I broke down and called TT support, as my unit is still under warranty. The women I spoke to knew exatly the problem. She pointed me to a URL that had the patch. It's a KNOWN PROBLEM. I installed the patch, and it has been flawless since. Call TomTom.

I broke down and called tomtom and they said that they knew the problem with the error, but wasn't sure about the rebooting. They had me run the clear_flash utility 3 times. So far it seems to have cleared the error, but not the rebooting issues. She said to call back if it still happens and they will RMA it.
