Problem with 740 boot

Hi
I have a problem with my 740. It's intermittent but becoming more frequent and is now about 50% of the time or more.
When I boot up I do not get the splash screen but a screen full of info such as RAM, software version etc, a bit like when starting a pc and getting the bios check type stuff.
The screen then freezes.
I restart, sometimes numerous times, before I get a normal startup.
Anybody any idea what the problem is or/and how to fix it?
Thanks

The way you get to that screen normally is to hold the power switch down for 20 seconds or so.
Do you think it's possible that the power switch is sticking? Does it still 'feel' OK when you press it, or has it gone spongy?

I have had one power switch die on a Go 940 and the replacement is possibly on it's way out too. It has never felt as positive as the one on a Go950.

Hi
Thanks for that. I think that's the problem. I reset it last night and noticed the button seemed to be sticking. After restting I decided to turn on by only pressing the button for 2 seconds or less, previously I may have kept it pressed much longer.
I think this has solved the problem.
Many thanks
