Can I charge my 1050 using the USB lead and plug it into my iPad plug that i use to charge my ipad ...IE the one which converts mains to USB for use in charging the iPad.... Thanks in advance silver star

You can charge with anything to charge a USB device as they are all required to supply a well regulated 5 volts. How fast your 1050 charges will depend upon the charger's current capacity, but the iPad sucks a bunch, so you should be able to charge pretty quickly.
